Golf Club Courmayeur & Grandes Jorasses in the Aosta Valley
What troubles the golfer in Courmayeur are not so much the narrow fairways or small greens, but rather the difficult weather conditions: The wind can shift quickly here, and gusts of wind also make the game more difficult. Rain can also come quite suddenly here, because one must not forget that the Aosta Valley belongs as one of the northernmost regions of Italy and that the 9-hole golf course Courmayeur lies at the feet of none other than the imposing Mont Blanc.
The Courmayeur Golf Club has been in existence since 1938, when Peter Gannon and Henry Cotton designed and realized the course, which is now one of the most exclusive in northern Italy.
How to get there:
Torino-Aosta-Monte Bianco highway, Courmayeur exit. At the bend before the Mont Blanc tunnel, turn right for La Palud and continue into Val Ferret. After a few kilometers you will reach Planpincieux and the golf course.
