Golf Club Udine

Imagine the Carnic Alps in the background, the hills covered with beech and oak trees all around and the dreamlike city of Udine in Friuli close by: This is where the Golf Club Udine is located in a truly unique position.

Since 1970, the golf course has undergone various changes and improvements involving important architects such as the Englishman John Dering Harris and Marco Croze, who added to the first 9 holes another 9 in 1995 on the 73-hectare course. In 2013, Gabriele Lualdi, together with agronomist Fulvio Bani, redesigned and extended the course. Today, the course is a technically very demanding par 72 that stretches over more than 7,000 metres.

The driving range extends over 33,000 m² with two different structures, one for the long game and one for the short game. The long game building is spread over two floors with 9 covered teeing grounds on the ground floor and 13 floodlit artificial grass courts on the upper floor with an enclosed area for the simulator, a further 10 natural grass courts and a 180 m² putting green. The area dedicated to the short game covers an area of over 3000 m² and consists of two putting greens of 290 and 740 m² respectively, pitching chip greens and bunkers for practising short, medium and long shots.

Over the years, the clubhouse has also been renovated, housing the secretariat with the pro shop, the bar and the restaurant with large windows and outdoor terraces offering a beautiful view of the golf course and the surrounding hills.
