I booked this hotel because of the great reviews and now I feel obliged to write one myself. Arriving with high expectations already, I was not disappointed.
The food is absolutely fantastic with lots of variety. You can literally taste the quality of the ingredients.
The whole place is beautifully designed with attention to minute details. It feels very cozy while still looking smart.
The staff is very balanced in their approach, very friendly but still professional. They were very helpful with any special requirements we had.
The spa is never too busy, has everything you could need from a spa and the relaxation area is vast.
If you are interested in sports, hikes, any outdoor activities, the hotel offers a huge range of options and events which they organise themselves.
Most importantly everything in the hotel is very clean and tidy.
Of course like any other place this hotel is not perfect either. However, you do get your money's worth and are guaranteed to have a great time here. Although usually I prefer exploring new places, I will certainly come back here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Petrus. From the very first moment, we received an incredibly warm and personal welcome, making us feel right at home. The staff is incredibly friendly, really takes their time with you, and knows exactly who you are, something you rarely experience these days.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with a wonderful spa where we truly relaxed. The food is also high quality; every meal was a delight. The location is perfect, ideal for exploring the area and simply enjoying the peace and quiet.
There's really nothing to complain about. Hotel Petrus is a wonderful family-run hotel where hospitality and personal attention are paramount. Highly recommended; we will definitely be back!

A hotel where everything is just right!
We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights skiing at the end of January 2025 and can wholeheartedly recommend it (even for non-skiers).
The welcome was incredibly warm; every detail in this hotel is perfect.
The wellness area is beautifully designed, the pool is sufficiently large and not too crowded. In winter, the outdoor pool is partially covered for sustainability reasons – however, if you wish to swim outside, it can be opened upon request. The relaxation rooms are designed with attention to detail.
We were a group of 6 people and stayed in two double rooms, the "Angel" and one double room, the "Paulus." The rooms were modern and lovingly furnished, super cozy, and extremely clean.
The food at the hotel is fantastic. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about the breakfast concept at the beginning (without a proper buffet), but by the end of the holiday I was absolutely thrilled. The quality of the food is fantastic, with great attention to regionality and sustainability.
The service at the restaurant also deserves high praise. With six people (and different room numbers), we were certainly not easy to manage; nevertheless, the service was excellent, and the additional drinks were booked correctly even without constantly asking for the room number.
The ski shuttle to the Kronplatz valley station also works perfectly. If there is no bus available when you pick us up, one will be dispatched immediately upon request. And if you'd rather ski down to the hotel: There's a black (!) slope with a turnoff that leads directly to the hotel.
Our fellow travelers enjoyed it so much that they immediately booked a follow-up stay – I think that says it all :)
In conclusion: We highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful property and staff behavior were standout features! Staff dropped us off the apartment we were staying at and recommended a couple of must go places. We arrived a bit too late and everything was closed next day too and so the Staff on request offered us property shower gels and shampoo immediately. Excellent and very easy check in. Dinner table was not available so would recommend reserving

Excellent property just a few hundred meters from the Plan de Corones cable car. Helpful, friendly, and competent staff. My junior suite had a generously sized balcony. Functional furnishings. The electric recliners are questionable. They're probably aimed at a slightly older clientele. The spa is well-equipped and functional. Both indoor and outdoor pools are available. Gourmet 3/4 board with options for vegans and vegetarians. Amazing breakfast! Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

It is a 4s hotel with a better service , better facilities and rooms than many of the 5 stars hotels i have been to. The spa is amazing, the indoor plus out door pool, the high level free mid-day buffet for the guest. The clozed balcony with the jacuzzi with all the candles was beautiful..
The fountain in every floor, the table games in the lounge. They were thinking about every possible way to make you feel , comfortable and in a place that will give you everything that you ask for in a luxurious and generous way.
It is not a money factory, it is a place that will make you happy.
Cons: the view doesn't stand in the same level as the pearls of the dolomites like corvara and selva di val gardena.

Our stay at Hotel Petrus was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. It’s a family-owned hotel, and you can feel the love and care in every detail. The entire family is involved, and it shows.
The rooms were spacious, cozy, and beautifully designed with stunning mountain views. The food was exceptional — fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. Every meal felt like a special occasion. Service throughout our stay was impeccable, attentive, kind, and always with a smile.
The hotel is perfectly located near all the Dolomites adventures we had planned, with incredible scenery all around. My wife, kids, and I felt completely at home and didn’t want to leave.

Our dream break at the Hotel Petrus – South Tyrol at its best
We were privileged to spend eight wonderful days at the 4-star superior Hotel Petrus – and one thing is certain: this hotel is a true gem in South Tyrol.
We received a warm welcome right from the start. No hectic glances at the screen, no stressed expressions – instead, you immediately sensed the genuine joy with which guests are welcomed. This appreciative attitude permeates the entire hotel.
The reception staff always had the right suggestions for everyone. Whether hiking or biking!
The hotel also offers a wide range of guided hikes and activities! The wealth of ideas was inexhaustible.
At the center of this special atmosphere is senior manager Gerti, the heart of the hotel. Her warmth characterizes the entire team. Whether at the reception, in the service department, in the kitchen, or in housekeeping – all employees exemplify hospitality, something we have rarely experienced on our many travels through Europe.
We would particularly like to highlight:
The dining room staff – attentive, warm, and professional. Every wish was fulfilled before we could even speak it.
The unique spring water concept – there are fountains with fresh Dolomite water on every floor, along with stylish carafes and beautiful glasses. This water is also served free of charge at all meals. A very special service!
Our "Petrus" room – spacious (34 m²), a stunning balcony with a view of the garden and Kronplatz, immaculately maintained and lovingly prepared by housekeeping. We also received wonderful news from room service.
The kitchen – a culinary journey every evening! Creative, high-quality, and full of flavor. An excellent wine list with over 200 items and an impressive wine cellar are also available.
The wellness area – indoor and outdoor pools with a water lock, various saunas, and a large sunbathing lawn offer pure relaxation for every guest.
Early morning exercise in the pool – a highlight for me as an athlete: As early as 6:00 a.m., I could swim my laps in the 25-meter-long pool – alone and in absolute peace and quiet. That's luxury for every active vacationer!
The Aichner family, with their daughters Brigitte, Christina, and Daniela, their mother Gerti, and father Hans (the calming influence), are passionate hosts – you can feel it in every detail.
Conclusion:
A hotel where quality is lived – not just on paper, but in daily activities. As travel professionals, we know: quality has its price, but when it's met with such warmth, professionalism, and innovation, every euro is well invested.

Excellent structure from all points of view!
Do not be fooled by the external appearance of the building because the interior is truly wonderful: welcoming and modern furnishings, excellent services, kindness from all the staff, top-level cuisine, a beautiful spa, indoor and outdoor heated pool and excellent organization.
The hotel is surrounded by greenery and is in a hamlet of Brunico, which can be easily reached by car. Although the Dolomite peaks are a bit far away, the location is excellent for exploring the area.
The management is familiar but at a decidedly high level: professional and at the same time very welcoming.
It is a hotel that I would recommend to everyone without a doubt!

High-end place but down to earth and comfy at the same time because of its family atmosphere. They promise it they and they deliver it.
Strong roots and connections with the local area and traditions for you to experience.
Best thing is the "merenda" from 3pm to 5pm when returning from the slopes or hikes. Do not miss it!
The family owns an amazing dog I recommend to spend time with, a joy for your heart.
All the staff is kind and helpful, just talk to them for anything.

The hotel grounds and corridors are adorned with the hotel's history, and you can feel the genuine hospitality shown by all the staff. Located in the Brunico region, the hotel is close to the ski slopes, offering a full range of activities in summer and winter.
There's a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, lounge areas, and a gym.
The staff are all friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back soon. I'm secretly in love with this place.

A fantastic hotel on every level: beautiful rooms, lovingly furnished with natural materials, and comfortable beds. Top-notch cuisine with delicious dishes. I have several intolerances and tolerated them all perfectly, and they even offer gluten-free bread. An unforgettable stay full of warmth and enjoyment!
The Hotel Petrus in South Tyrol is a true treasure! From the lovingly and meticulously decorated interiors to the family-friendly atmosphere, we felt completely at home. The personalized notes in the room were a wonderful surprise and demonstrated the attention to detail that characterizes this hotel.
The staff is simply exceptional: attentive, friendly, and accommodating. You can tell they truly love their work and are valued by the family that owns it.
The gourmet board was an absolute highlight. The food was phenomenally good, and even minor variations in taste were immediately accommodated. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free requests are no problem. The served breakfast was pleasant and varied, and the afternoon soup and excellent sweets were a real treat.
My husband was thrilled with the ski area and the convenient ski rental and ski service at the hotel. The hotel's own shuttle service was an added bonus.
I was able to participate in the 5-day Pilates & Pleasure Retreat, which was perfectly organized. The Pilates and relaxation sessions were varied and incredibly fun. We've already registered for the next retreat at Hotel Petrus in 2026!
The wellness area is beautiful and also designed with great attention to detail. There's a pool, which we unfortunately didn't get to use due to lack of time.
We spent our vacation at the end of March, and there was still plenty of snow, which was ideal for my husband, a skier.
Hotel Petrus exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Service was good but the cleaning ladys would come in without knocking and actually got angry at us for telling them we do not want the rooms cleaned as we are getting ready to go out. The system for the cleaning needs to be changed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this family-run hotel! The service was simply fantastic – the hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the ski slopes, and we were picked up again whenever we wanted. This convenience truly made our ski vacation stress-free.

A true treasure, beautiful, innovative, and (therefore) sustainable, the Hotel Petrus: German Design Award 2025 – and rightly so! - Falstaff & Gault Millau awards - incredibly good cuisine! The Aichner family and their team are brilliant at keeping an eye on all guests' needs and fulfilling their every wish. Close to Kronplatz, perfectly organized for skiers of all ages (shuttle, ski rental, ski pass), spectacular excursions, summer and winter. Seriously (!) family-friendly, even dog-friendly. Arrive, unwind, be pampered, and feel warmly welcomed.
Through a chance encounter, we first came here two years ago and knew we'd return with our dog. And this time, everything was perfect once again.
It's the little touches, the smiles of all the staff and other guests, and the relaxed, easygoing, and warm atmosphere combined with the high standards of this family-run hotel.
Breakfast is celebrated as a leisurely meal, and dinner is a five-course menu with options to choose from – requests are no problem. The food is delicious – you can tell that quality is just as important as regional sourcing in every dish.
The spa and gym are impeccably maintained. The rooms are modern and leave nothing to be desired. The spa treatment team is competent and friendly.
The little activities that are organized are outstanding: guided hikes or ski tours, torchlight walks, intimate living room concerts, and much more.
Dogs are welcome, and Lotte, the dog-loving manager, has everything under control. ;-)

We’ve visited Hotel Petrus for the first time after recommendation from our relatives who have been coming for their annual skiing trips for 10 years. We had a fabulous experience and will be coming back. We were staying in Suite 341—what a fantastic choice! The suite was beautifully designed, with a lovely terrace featuring a jacuzzi that made a perfect experience. The food was exceptional. The family-run nature of the hotel really shines through in the personal touch and attention to detail throughout the entire stay. The spa area was excellent, with a relaxing atmosphere and a wide range of saunas to choose from. Additionally, the hotel offers a convenient ski shuttle that gets you to the slopes in just 3 minutes. We highly recommend Hotel Petrus for anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming, and luxurious base for a ski trip!

I stayed in the apartments of the hotel Petrus. The room was warm and the bed was comfortable, the kitchen area had everything you need to heat up food. There was free parking next to the apartment. Unfortunately, the apartment was poorly cleaned, there was no toilet paper and hand soap. When I asked for soap, I was offered to buy it in a nearby supermarket. From the apartment for breakfast you had to go or walk about 800 m, if this is difficult - it is better to take a standard room. I really liked the spa center, we visited the heated pool and the forest sauna. Breakfast and lunch were varied, everything was prepared from local products. Vegetables and fruits are grown on the territory of the hotel, the Jerusalem artichoke soup caused a special delight.

This was without a doubt the most comfortable hotel I've ever stayed at. The room was absolutely beautiful and had a very peaceful view. Biking around the area was picturesque and safe. The sauna was such a pleasure after a few days of biking and hiking. And the food was phenomenal especially the eggs benedict and house made elderflower juice. But what made it special was the service. Everyone treated us with kindness and like family even. Seriously I never wanted to leave.

As my partner so aptly put it: "This is the first hotel where I don’t just want to return, I *need* to return." And I couldn’t agree more.
In the Michelin guide, three stars signify that a place is "worth the journey," and for me, Hotel Petrus is a three-star experience in every sense. It’s worth the drive, the flight, the effort — an unforgettable retreat that I can’t wait to revisit.

We booked a room at this hotel, and upon arrival, the staff told us they'd offered a small upgrade. So, we were escorted to our new room, which was actually a newly renovated 100-square-meter suite with a wraparound balcony, on the top floor overlooking the woods behind the hotel. Beautiful is an understatement. Not to mention the restaurant. Truly an unforgettable experience.

We're currently on our way home and trying to put into words this wonderful time at Hotel Petrus. We spent five unforgettable honeymoon days there. ️️
The staff was absolutely friendly and attentive, very accommodating, and always up for a quick chat. (Thanks to Claudia for the tour tips.) The family-run hotel maintains high standards, which the entire team shares. High-quality, often handmade details can be found in every corner. A small gift awaits you in the room every now and then, too. In general, the hotel places great value on handmade and homemade items – from the hotel brochure and short personal messages to the cultivation of the food and the preparation of the dishes.
Because I have celiac disease, I have to follow a strict gluten-free diet. The hotel is listed with the Italian Celiac Society, so I had absolutely no worries. Every server always knew about the individual dishes and made sure I was served the right plate. A red felt heart ️ is placed at the table for each "celiac" so they can be recognized immediately. A piece of parsley is placed on each plate, which also indicates "gluten-free." I always felt safe and could enjoy my meal from morning to night. I never had the feeling I was getting a poorly adapted dish or had to go without anything. Every request (e.g., apple strudel for the afternoon snack) was fulfilled. The only drawback for some picky celiacs might be the consistency of the homemade gluten-free bread. BUT: The new head chef still has room to learn.

We spent two weeks at hotel petrus with my wife and two young children.
The hotel is very well situated with easy access to plenty of attractions.
The hotel facilities are very good. Spacious bedrooms, play room, inside and outside pool etc.
The food is high quality gastro style. The products are fresh home grown/local and organic where possible.
The strong point is the family atmosphere and quality of service. Impeccable.
We will certainly visit again.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Never in 40 years of vacationing in the mountains have I experienced such a tasteful, charming, friendly, and lovingly crafted hotel! The arrival, rooms, information, reception, food, and drinks are all of the finest. What's particularly remarkable today is the staff, who fulfill our every wish with a smile on their faces! The kitchen deserves two Michelin stars. The excellent breakfast and dinner alone are worth our 900km journey.
The garden, all the common areas, the wellness area, and the pool complete the stay! Decorated with attention to detail, guests discover something new every day. Hats off to the three sisters who continue the legacy in a way that is second to none. We don't want to go home!

We loved staying at hotel Petrus, a luxurious "German" hotel with large comfortable rooms, more spa/sauna/wellness stuff than I can mention (and whoops, I enjoyed too much and forgot to take photos of! My wife wants me to mention the hay room and water beds in the spa as being especially relaxing), a small but sufficient gym*, a heated swimming pool and a hotter jacuzzi pool.
Breakfast is a mini buffet on the table, and a la carte, with my favourite type of German bread which I ate far too much of.
Dinner is a la carte of 5 courses and 1-3 options per course and if you have all 5 it's fixed price set menu for 55eur which is great value for money, especially considering everything is fine dining style, but decent sized portions!
The hotel has a great vibe, being family run, the three sisters who manage it were all very welcoming, friendly and relaxed, their mother Gerti was so happy when she came round with her dessert course cheese cart, and we absolutely loved the most important member of the family, Lotte, the sleeping giant of a St Bernard dog. She greeted us happily once, and I managed to get some licks from her but most of the time she patiently endured our stroking :)
I've added some photos we took on easy local walks around the hotel which is situated right next to the country side and the local mountain range.
*The gym was good with a bike, treadmill, cable weights, etc, but my two criticisms are that there wasn't active Aircon, and the dumbells looked nice, but there was only one set and they were incredibly fiddly to change the weight on, so they were ultimately impractical decorations. Fortunately there was a decent cable machine!

Our stay at the Hotel Petrus was simply first-class! The service was outstanding and extremely friendly. Every team member exuded genuine warmth and made our stay unforgettable.
The excellent food at the Hotel Petrus deserves special mention. Every meal was a culinary experience that pampered our palates and delighted us with regional specialties.
The small touches in our room in the evening added a personal touch to our stay; we always felt cared for and appreciated.
The proximity to Plan de Corones was another plus for the Hotel Petrus. We were able to easily explore the beautiful surroundings and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Overall, we can wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel Petrus and are already looking forward to our next visit!

My wife, I, and our two-year-old daughter stayed at this wonderful property. Our vacation started out beautifully thanks to Daniela's kindness, and continued to be excellent thanks to the restaurant's cuisine and the courtesy of its staff.
The highlights for us are:
- very clean rooms
- restaurant with consistently appetizing gourmet dishes. A special mention goes to the children's menu, which is authentic and not just pasta with tomato sauce, sausage, or sausage. Thank you so much for that.
- spa, not huge, but truly well-maintained.
- ski and boot rental right on the hotel's doorstep, a unique convenience.
When we return to the Kronplatz area, this will be our go-to hotel.

Magnificent hotel, super staff, excellent gluten-free dinner, and amazing breakfast. We tried the spa; the saunas and pool were magnificent. The room was very spacious and meticulously maintained. The complimentary gift at checkout was very much appreciated.
The highlight was waking up in the morning, opening the curtains on the huge windows overlooking the forest, and seeing four deer strolling peacefully in the meadows.

As a returning guest, I'm always amazed at the new amenities, little surprises, and improvements the Aichner family has come up with.
I've never known a hotel that's so lovingly and attentively managed and constantly evolving. For example, there was a little surprise in the room every day: a buffet, a hand scrub, and little sleep-wellness balls.
Breakfast isn't offered in the classic buffet style, but is individually served at your table on a beautiful wooden board. The three-quarter board option is definitely worth it, as the food and snacks are exceptionally good.

What a magnificent hotel, we spent a wonderful week there!
A relaxed, family atmosphere, a sense of service made up of many small details and thoughtful touches, activities offered every day (I went on two wonderful hikes with Claudia and Hermann, we also visited the hotel garden with an aperitif), the quality of the facilities (a beautiful 25-meter swimming pool, a complete and truly enjoyable sauna-spa).
Finally, the cuisine is a pure pleasure, featuring garden and local produce. The breakfasts are generous, with a basic menu and daily offerings. In the afternoon, a small snack is always welcome. And in the evening, a 5-course menu, preceded by a salad, a hotel tradition. A blend of high-quality Tyrolean and Italian cuisine, varied, full of flavor, and beautifully presented.
Note for those arriving by train: the hotel offers a free travel pass for the entire region. In short, go there with your eyes closed, you won't regret it!

Dinner was great, the tasting menu on Thursday was amazing, the wine pairing went very well. The location and the fact that you can buy/rent ski passes and skis on site are also great.
The food was very disappointing.
We've had much better food in South Tyrol, especially since the hotel boasts two toques/Falstaff.
We're also used to better service.
Not all employees greet you, and when you come downstairs in the morning and walk past the reception, you're ignored, even by the managers (if you don't feel like chatting, this is the wrong job for you, sorry).
The best employee in the hotel is Youssouf, always nice and friendly with a smile on his face.
It's a disgrace: you can get a coffee capsule/tea in the hallway (about €0.10 to buy).
For €3, what? Every hotel (even 3-star hotels) offers free tea and coffee in the rooms.

But after a hike like this, there's only one place I want to return to: the Hotel Petrus. And not just for the Marende (traditional snack)! (You'll soon find out what that means when you get there.)
The hotel is the perfect blend of a first-class star hotel and a welcoming family business. The wellness and pool area in the lush garden invite you to relax, and the cuisine is truly top-notch – creative, fresh, and much of it from the hotel's own farm.
The hotel also offers day trips, such as hikes with Claudia.
With excellent wine recommendations or a delicious espresso martini, you can round off the evening in the cozy hotel bar.

Hello, my name is Pandora ...and since my human is overwhelmed and speechless by the hotel ...I'll bark a few words here: I received a very charming welcome from "the boss, Lotte" right at the door. At reception, I received many kind words from her...and then up to my room...for those of you with joint problems or something...you can take the elevator ...otherwise, the stairs aren't slippery either. The rooms here are fantastic...lots of space and a large balcony...from here I can even see my human when she's splashing around in this great indoor/outdoor pool or sipping a cocktail with friends in the lovely garden – which, of course, is served to me on my lounger by the friendly, animal-loving staff. I'm generally allowed to join in the delicious-smelling meals too ...and even my human was speechless – and she's rarely at a loss for words ...and for those who like to do things, there are plenty of dog-friendly attractions and beautiful places to explore throughout the Puster Valley.
Overall, my human says...you rarely find such a loving, service-oriented, and sustainable house with such a family atmosphere ...if you vacation there, enjoy the many lovely little surprises...we already miss the amazing team! Thank you for the wonderful vacation! We'll be back – no doubt about it!

We loved practically everything. Upon arrival, we were greeted incredibly warmly. They gave us a short tour of the property to help us understand where our room was and where the pool and saunas were located (they have more than one). They never let us want for anything, and as for the value for money, I have to say I'm truly satisfied. Not to mention the overall beauty of the entire property. The room was truly beautiful and clean, nothing was missing. The pool is warm both inside and out, but if you're looking for warmer water, you can easily find it in the other pool with the whirlpool. Lastly, but only because I'd write a blog about this, the restaurant. My partner and I are celiac, and as a result, our choices are primarily based on hotels that are members of the AIC (Italian Celiac Association), but unfortunately, we haven't always found the staff to be professional or knowledgeable about the subject. Here, however, they were able to perfectly manage our dinner and breakfast, without taking anything away or leaving anything out. Brunico is truly beautiful to explore, but if you want to venture further, Lake Braies is just a 30-minute drive away, spectacular in autumn. So, what can I say? A wonderful stay, I hope to return very soon.

The staff were extremely kind and always smiling. The room was beautiful and clean. They left us a bottle of prosecco, a backpack, an umbrella, a shoehorn, and much more.
The notes posted around the room were a lovely idea.

The stay was top-notch. We felt pampered, with amazing breakfasts, gourmet dinners, and even an afternoon snack. Everything is also available gluten-free (which my celiac mother greatly appreciated). The staff is very courteous, kind, and always available. On our first day, we had a small third bed added to the room, which was promptly replaced with a larger sofa bed. The room had a lovely spacious terrace with a hammock, and the bathroom was large with a very comfortable walk-in shower. We really appreciated the pool, which was clean and had both an indoor and outdoor section. We hope to return soon!

We spent a couple of days at this beautiful property. The staff were kind and welcoming, with prompt, attentive, and always available service. The cuisine was excellent, featuring reinterpreted traditional dishes. The rooms are very beautiful and well-maintained, with views of the stunning mountains surrounding the hotel, which is just steps from the cable car to Plan de Corones. The pool was lovely and comfortable, and I'm told it also has a lovely spa, but we didn't have time to try it. One last note, a real treat for us: since my wife is celiac, this hotel is a paradise for them! The gluten-free meals were authentic and clearly labeled (which makes me feel at ease), and the staff paid the utmost attention!
I highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

A fantastic hotel in a prime location at Kronplatz! The superbly organized shuttle bus takes you from the hotel to the ski lifts in just 3 minutes. Almost everything was great, including the staff and dedicated owners who paid attention to detail. The hotel's comfort, large rooms, and so on. The indoor pool with "gates" to the outdoor area – a dream. By the way, how much does it cost to heat the water, which is not protected by any cover, and which radiates heat into the atmosphere? The cuisine is like a master chef's kitchen. The dishes are of very good quality and are presented in a designer manner. There's just one problem... the portions are too small. You'll get, for example, a tablespoon of avocado salad, 50-70g of fish or meat. If it weren't for the bread as a starter or the cheese board chosen for dessert, we would have left dinner hungry, which is probably not what a good hotel should be about. Breakfast, however, was inedible. The prices of drinks, beer, and wine are higher than on the slopes. I've been skiing in Italy about 40 times, and this was probably one of the best hotels so far. However, I probably won't return due to the beautifully presented but insufficient dinners.

We spent a week in South Tyrol in October and wanted a combination of hiking, sightseeing, wellness, relaxation, and good food. These expectations were completely met at the Hotel Petrus. We had a very tastefully furnished, modern room and made extensive use of the entire wellness area (several saunas, various specially designed relaxation areas, a large swimming pool, and a wide range of massages). We also found the food to be excellent. Fortunately, the often-experienced queues at buffets are nonexistent here. Even breakfast is served table by table each morning, always with a changing selection of extras. In the afternoon, there's a piece of cake or soup, and in the evening, a five-course menu with a choice of dishes – all always freshly prepared and with many regional products. The only (very minor) criticism: For us personally, the dishes could have been more regional (for example, there was also sole or swordfish – this is probably due to the preferences of most guests). The excellent wine list deserves special mention; you could always find a suitable wine – especially after individual advice from the hotel's wine expert.
All of this is certainly similar in other hotels. But what really stands out about the Hotel Petrus is the hospitality that is always palpable. Truly ALL the staff always greet guests with a warmth we've never experienced before. Add to that the many details (small gifts in the room, beautiful decorations everywhere, advice on tour planning, hiking offers – tip: be sure to take the sunrise hike with Claudia, the history of the hotel, and much more). For us, this is the perfect vacation spot in South Tyrol and a definite recommendation!

We were thrilled with this fantastic hotel: a cozy family room, a great atmosphere, and, above all, the breakfast, bar, and restaurant, including a wine list, left nothing to be desired. The service is warm and super friendly, and even a short stay quickly makes everyday life disappear. The beautiful wooden games in the bar, the super-cool casual style of the staff (e.g., blue dresses with white sneakers at dinner), and, last but not least, the free green fee vouchers for the Pustertal Golf Club were special highlights. The property offers every comfort you could desire. The furnishings are meticulously crafted, and the cuisine boasts rich menus that are sophisticated in flavor yet inspired by local tradition. The rooms are brand new; mine boasted a breathtaking view of the mountains, enjoyed from a private hot tub on the balcony. The spa boasts multiple saunas at different temperatures, and the pool is partly indoors and partly outdoors, allowing for a warmer experience even in the winter.
The bar also boasts expertly crafted cocktails, and there's no shortage of activities to do in the surrounding area.
I'll conclude by saying that the hotel's family-run management is a plus, as the history of the property easily captivates guests.

The daily afternoon snack from 3-5 PM was very good. Fresh fruit, vegetables, bread and meats. Gluten free options. However, many smokers were intermingled with non smokers on the terrace. Smokers should have designated spots even if outside.
Dinner was exceptional! Absolutely outstanding meals! All beef (especially the tenderloin, ravioli and carpaccio) items were excellent. The Yellowfin tuna was also phenomenal. The pork tenderloin was tasteless, recommend a marinade or sauce. Overall, bravo to the chef and kitchen staff! It is rare to have such consistently superior quality dinners at even a four star hotel. Dinner service was also much better than breakfast. The Hotel Petrus dinners are comparable to Michelin one and two star restaurants. Well done!
Baked goods were simply outstanding! Notable were the gluten free cheesecake and poppy seed cake. Limited quantities toward the end of the afternoon snack period. The first bread serving at dinner was excellent, but when asking for more bread, received a lesser quality assortment.
The room was fantastic. The decor, quality materials, color matching, lighting, firm bed, dead quiet floors and doors.
Bike/ski storage was easily accessible and convenient.
Pool, hot tub, general grounds and sauna areas were also outstanding.

Dirty dishes at first breakfast. A dirty water glass at dinner, weirdly sticking to the tablecloth.
The first two days' breakfast there was little service, and we weren't informed what was available to order beyond the initial servings. Staff were noisily setting up for the next meal while we were trying to eat. It was difficult and unsettling to have to flag down someone or stand by the kitchen door for a request. Had to ask for water and coffee twice, at two different meals. After a discussion with one of the owners, the breakfast service improved.
The breakfast menu should be available every day to know what's available beyond the limited initial table assortment. I suspect the normal buffet breakfast would have been much better, but here we are in the new normal. Elisa and Yosef were notable and accommodating servers.
Asked for an egg white omelette and was served a full egg omelette.
At 8-10 AM for two of the four days, there were loud machine noises (like a wood or metal shop) and loud music from the underground parking garage below our window. If the activity were necessary, could this have been done mid day?
Although a do not disturb sign on our door at 1045, housekeeping knocks and tells us this is her last room to clean, so we vacated early for her. Why?
We bought two wine glasses from home, left them out in our room and housekeeping took them. Contacted the staff who said they would look into it and never heard back from them.
If the hotel rule is masks required for all (including guests), the rule was not followed. A few guests were maskless while walking around the common areas. For the common toilets, recommend you move a waste basket near the door so guests can use the paper towel to turn the door latch and drop it in the can.
Flies in the breakfast/dining room were distracting.
Hotel Petrus has tremendous potential and, with some relatively minor tweaks, could be a world class experience. Overall, a really superior hotel that needs to at least meet, and hopefully exceed expectations in not just some, but all areas.

The hotel is truly amazing! The rooms are very large and super modern. The wellness area and the pool are also very nice and large. There are plenty of places to sit and lounge outside. The food was always delicious, even if sometimes a little lacking at dinner. Despite the lack of a buffet due to the coronavirus pandemic, breakfast was also very good, and they found a great way to replace the buffet! The afternoon snack box was also very good! The staff was also very friendly and personable. It was easy to have a good conversation with most of them and even share jokes. The 4-star rating is due to the fact that, unfortunately, at dinner, plates were sometimes cleared before everyone was finished, or the bottle was left on the glass when pouring wine, and a few other minor things that perhaps could be addressed. Drinks ordered several times were also forgotten, but of course, it can happen. Nevertheless, the hotel is excellent, and I can definitely recommend it!

The owners' homely approach reveals the warmth with which guests are welcomed and entertained. The spa area is among the best I've seen. The slogan "bei uns Dahoim" (at home) is a recurring theme throughout; you immediately feel at home and have arrived on "vacation."
Super friendly and attentive staff, delicious food, a warm atmosphere, attention to detail, and fantastic spa treatments.

A magic place! Family owned and they we're all very friendly and helpful. The food was super good and good value. The room is nicely done and very spacious. The bar is cozy and has an open fire place. Their shuttle service takes you to the ski slope. They rent good ski equipment at the Hotel. The spa is fantastic and during our stay they gave us some small personal gifts such as a candle with a poem.

Ever seen a ten-meter-long sofa? In the pool area? Very cool... and above all, very comfortable. ;-) We spent a week at the Hotel Petrus. We really liked it. And what exactly...?
The rooms: very new, beautifully designed, and cleverly thought out.
The hotel: dating back to the 1960s, it has been expanded several times. From the street, you can still see a bit of the time travel. The most striking renovation has taken place in recent years. Skillful interior design, modern and very casual. In one or two corners, you can still find an older style, but the overall impression is the one just described. You sit by large windows, on wide, long, upholstered benches, and enjoy the view outside. We've never sat on a windowsill so comfortably. ;-)
The pool and sauna area: a 25-meter swimming pool! Great, where else can you find that? You can also swim out into the beautiful garden. That's really fun, especially in summer. The sauna area in the basement is not only very inviting, but also quite spacious! You can sweat a lot here. By the way, beautiful, in both senses of the word.
The family: In many hotels, you find the family as a photo on the website, but not actually in the hotel. But not here. The entire family is here, and that's what truly defines this hotel. A pleasant, unpretentious friendliness defines the entire atmosphere.
The kitchen: What can I say... excellent!! The service is top-notch! A team that has worked together over the years shows what it's capable of.
The family, especially the three daughters, have found their own way, away from the mainstream hotel style. Soothing, pleasant, unfussy, and simply beautiful. Long story short: Go there!

Simply perfect. Every detail is taken care of, and it has nothing to envy of a five-star hotel. The cuisine is simply fabulous, and the cleanliness of the rooms is excellent. They even allow dogs in some rooms for a daily supplement. The wellness area is well-maintained and offers several types of saunas. Please note, the steam sauna is not a hammam. If I were to find any room for improvement, I still like the traditional soap in the bathroom and not the dispensers. The buffet is extensive and of excellent quality; in my opinion, it could be placed in a better location in the dining room to further enhance its beauty. Furthermore, the welcome package, in addition to the brochures, could include a small gift as a memento of the hotel and the holiday... As is the case with four-legged friends, after all... but these are small things. Overall, 10 out of 10 and I recommend Google users to come to this hotel. PS: I forgot about the wait staff... finally, someone who always serves the ladies first and in a professional manner, well done!

Negative: This 4-star-plus hotel doesn't always live up to its category.
The quality of the rooms varies considerably and some could be improved. A constantly flickering lightbulb, loud noise from the bathroom in the neighboring room, missing hangers for ski gear, and twice ignoring the "Do Not Disturb" sign are questionable for a hotel of this category.
If you go to the hotel's own ski rental shop, you're simply left standing for 10 minutes under the watchful eye of two employees. No "hello," no "can I help you?" Even when we asked if we could borrow something, the answer was "yes," and then they moved on to other tasks.
The friendliness of the service often seems very artificial and is sometimes nonexistent.
There are also insufficient parking spaces. It can happen that you get blocked in and then you have to wait and see "how" and, above all, "when" you can leave your parking space.
Positive: Nice wellness area, food was okay. A bit salty in places, close to the valley cable car. About a 10-minute walk. A shuttle from the hotel is available.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in:
-Very friendly staff
-Very nice and modern rooms (we had the Petrus room)
-Very large spa area where you can relax, the pool area is also suitable for families with children
-The food was simply excellent (see photos)
What more could you want! This hotel is highly recommended, we'll be going back again.

Beautiful hotel with excellent and friendly service. Delicious breakfast and a very good, elegant dinner with a good and extensive wine list. Lovely indoor and outdoor pools. Morning and afternoon shuttle service to and from the ski lift, very convenient!

Very beautiful hotel! Carefully maintained and managed by the Aichner family with great love. Completely renovated, it features a dream wellness area! The food is like a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the breakfast is fabulous!

A superb hotel with a family atmosphere. A fantastic wellness area with every amenity to make you feel at ease. Very friendly service, excellent and varied cuisine, and a stunning setting. We stayed there both in summer and winter, and the range of leisure activities is virtually endless. A superb hotel that I highly recommend to everyone.
